By Hao Zhi Ben, ACEF Honorable Director Video of the new song of Righteousness in English The honorable UN Secretary General, Mr Pan Ki-Moon and all officials and friends of UN: 21st September is World Peace Day. Ten years ago on 20th Sep, 2002, the former UN Secretary General Mr Kofi Annan hit the bell of peace at UN Headquarters and announced to the world: From 2002 onwards, 21st September every year will be the World Peace Day which is aimed at cease-fire and non-violence. The world today is full of wars and hunger, all the people in the world are longing for world peace! This year, on 20th June, 2012, UN convened the Rio +20 Summit Conference at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This conference was also in commemoration of the first UN Environmental Protection and Development Conference held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil twenty years ago. Twenty years have past, the global environment has not improved, instead it deteriorates! The Conference pointed out: “The tolerance level of all systems of the world has gradually reach the limit, if this goes on this way, the consequences may be disastrous and irreversible! UN Secretary General Pan Ki-Moon made this appeal: “What we lack now is time, and time remaining is not much, so the most important for us is action! Act immediately!” “Protect Mother Earth, Protect World Peace”-----are two most important issues of the human race, determining whether they can survive and multiply on earth! Due to the fact that the global economics is unified, the earth is covered by the worldwide web, the destiny and future of the world and the human population are intermeshed; it is a foolish dream for any nation and any ethnic group to think of development and survival with no concern at all to this issue! All nations and all earth citizens of the human society should steadfastly support and respond to UN’s decision and action on “Protecting Mother Earth” and “Protecting World Peace”! On the eve of the forthcoming World Peace Day, I would like to present to UN a song written by me entitled <The New Song of Righteousness> (The Song of Protecting Mother Earth and World Peace). Presently this song has been translated into 9 languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Malay, Japanese and Korean. The Southern University College, Malaysia where I serve as the Chair Professor is promoting this song to all her lecturers and students, to Malaysia and neighboring nations, with the objective of protecting Mother Earth and World Peace! The song consists of 22 verses. Ten of the verses are quoted from the classic poem of the national hero of China, Wen Tian Xiang, 700 years ago. It is imbued with the philosophy of unified Qi theory, qi being the origin of the universe, the entity that transforms into all beings-----The earth breeds the human beings, it is the mother of human beings. Therefore we make this appeal: All human beings who live in the embrace of Mother Earth are co-ancestry, are brothers and sisters! The human race should ask themselves this question----Since we are all of co-ancestry, why do we fight, kill, shoot and even engage in nuclear warfares?! “Since we are born of the same root, why do we kill each other so hurriedly?”(translator’s note: a poem written by Caozhi(192-232 A.D.)) What problems between brothers and sisters cannot be solved peacefully? We appeal again: The great Mother Earth----- With her milk, rivers, streams, lakes and the seas, providing us her offsprings with clean water; With her body, forests grow, providing us her offsprings with fresh air; With her body, crops are grown, providing us her offsprings with food; With her body, various mineral mines are hidden, providing us her offsprings with all that we need. However, due to the selfishness and greed of the unfilial human beings, their reckless plunder of Mother Earth, even sucking her blood and bone marrow, Mother Earth is now in blues and bruises, she is dying…… The alarm is rung! Brothers and sisters of the earth, we should be concerned with these critical issues----“Earth Environmental Protection” and “World Peace” We appeal to the human race on earth------ Irrespective of race, religion, nation and beliefs Promote dialogues, cease confrontations, annihilate wars, be all in one family! Promote human righteousness! Protect world peace! Save Mother Earth!
