On November 24,2011, Mr. Zeng Xiaodong, Secretary General of ACEF met with Ms. Nomoko Nishimoto, Director of Division of Regional Cooperation of UNEP in the meeting room of ACEF. The two sidesexchanged views on green economy and the cooperation between two sides.

Ms. Nomoko Nishimoto gave a short instruction about the green economy report launched in Beijing on November 16th, 2011.She wished ACEF would play a more active role in disseminating environment information to the public and serve as the bridge between the government and the public in promoting the development of green economy in China.

Zeng explained his understanding about the meaning of the idea of green economy. He said developing green economy is of importance to China’s economic development and environmental protection cause. ACEF, as one of the bigges CSOs in China, would continually make concerted effort to promote green economy and environmental protection in China and the world at large.

Zeng thanked UNEP for its continue support to ACEF. He also expressed his willing to deepen the cooperation with UNEP in the future.

Ms. Nomoko Nishimoto spoke highly of the ACEF’s work and achievement. She thanked ACEF’s support to UNEP hosted Civil Society Forum and GC/GMEF meeting and encourage ACEF to play a more active role in Civil Society Forum and other consultative process with the engagement of civil society organizations.

Mr. Zhang Shigang, Coodinator of UNEP, Ms. Xie Yuhong, Deputy Secretary General of ACEF, Zhang Wenjuan, Executive Assistant of UNEP Office in China, Wang Yuming, Director of Department of International Cooperation of ACEF, Lilei and Gao Xiaoyi, staff of Department of International Cooperation of ACEF attended the meeting.
